PREVENTIVE FOOT CARE FOR CHILDREN
Children's Feet Need Tender Loving Care
![]() |
Although most parents marvel at how quickly a child outgrows his new shoes, they may not realize the long-term importance of foot care. Professionals agree that a child's feet continuously grow until the age of 20. During those years shoe styles will come and go, but one thing remains the same; careful care of children's feet. When taking care of your child's feet, always remember to: Check his or her feet for blisters or corns. Your child might not tell you if they are feeling discomfort. Replace socks and shoes when they become worn out. During growth spurts shoes may need to be replaced every one or two months. Use proper foot hygiene and teach older children how to wash and dry feet with special care. Have your child's feet examined by a foot care specialist, even if no problems are present. Sometimes sports activities can reveal undiagnosed foot problems that can lead to more serious complications. |
